Spring High Preliminary Arc[]

Zawa Introduction

As Kakugawa enters the court, Minamida happily pats Hyakuzawa's back and assures his taller teammate that he could ask him for help if he forgets any of the rules. Shortly after, Minamida confidently tells the team that Karasuno doesn't appear to have anyone as tall as Hyakuzawa on their side. In the first rally, Minamida warns Hyakuzawa of a triple block but is self-reminded that it wouldn't matter much because of his teammate's height. Shortly after, Minamida would get Asamushi back on track when telling him to ignore people calling them a one-man team and make him focus on Kageyama's upcoming serve. In that rally, Minamida poorly bumps the ball. Despite this, Asamushi is still satisfied with it as he can still set it to Hyakuzawa well-enough.

Shortly after, Inagaki praises Hyakuzawa for his performance, and to prevent Asamushi from getting provoked, Minamida compares Hyakuzawa to regular aces, even if fewer people notice the other Kakugawa members. Additionally, he finds that successfully putting the ball up for Hyakuzawa shows that they can work well as a team. After this, Minamida gives his younger teammate a friendly laugh and shows his pride for him. When Hinata serves sometime later, Minamida is able to receive it easily. Minamida would then later fail to keep the ball up as Hinata spikes.
